From this information an individual risk profile is generated to determine how well your body is moving and to determine your level of injury risk with exercise. Performance Pyramid

Thousands of Body Genius (BG) clients have benefitted from the Performance Pyramid and the simple concepts it represents. Each practitioner on the BG team has a copy of the pyramid on their desk and clients are walked through the basic strategy and where they sit within the pyramid. We feel as practitioners that it’s important to continually remind ourselves of the importance of satisfying each level of the pyramid before moving on to higher levels.

By completing the Athletic Screen as part of your Movement Coaching journey, you will be ensuring that you have satisfied the ‘Mobility / Flexibility’ and ‘Stability’ levels of the pyramid. This is a crucial step before moving upwards to the higher levels of fitness, strength, power and sport.

Not only does this system of analysis and treatment fast-track successful outcomes, it also provides solutions that create lasting results!


Our Movement Coaches are exceptional at determining which corrective exercise(s) will enhance your movement. Of course the first step is to identify which patterns of movement are challenging for your individual body and this is accomplished through the Athletic Screen.

The second step is to determine which exercise has the greatest potential to improve the chosen movement pattern. For instance, if the Athletic Screen reveals that your overhead squat pattern is dysfunctional then a series of corrective exercises can be performed and evaluated.

Many people believe that stretching and mobility work takes time, often weeks or even months before any significant results are achieved. Our experience at the Body Genius Institute would lead us to believe that when the right corrective exercise is implemented it will yield results in just minutes. In our opinion, if the corrective exercise does not provide significant improvements in five minutes or less than it’s highly unlikely to provide benefits, even after weeks of diligent effort.

The process involves selecting a dysfunctional movement pattern and then testing corrective exercises to see which one has an immediate effect on improving that functional pattern of movement. When changes happen this rapidly, motivation soars!
